5 Effective Home Remedies for Ringworms

Ringworm is a painful skin condition caused by fungal infection with the symptoms like red and blisters like patches. To treat them at home, you need these effective home remedies.

Ringworm is an infectious skin condition caused by fungi and is marked by circular red pimple like patches with intense itching. It occurs on the feet, hand, scalp, feet, nail, groin, body and face. If it is not cured on the time, it may spread to the other parts of the body. There are many natural remedies which are effective to treat ringworms. They contain antibacterial and antiseptic properties which kill the fungal infection.

Tea Tree Oil:

Tea tree oil is the excellent home remedy for ringworms! The oil contains anti-fungal and anti-septic contents that make it effective for fungal infections.

(Note: Don’t use pure tea tree oil if it causes any irritation, instead dilute it with warm water)

To prepare a tea tree remedy for ringworm, you need 1 tbsp. of tea tree oil and mix it with 1 cup of warm water. Before applying that lotion, clean your skin and let it dry completely. Apply the lotion on the affected part of the skin with the help of cotton ball. Repeat the process 3-4 times a day.

Prompt a physician advice if you don’t see any improvement. 

Apple Vinegar:

Apple Vinegar is one of the natural ways to get rid of various skin conditions caused by worms and infections. The vinegar is high on antifungal properties that heal the symptoms of ringworm infection. It is easy to use!

All you need to apply apple vinegar to your affected area with cotton swabs several times in a day. Repeat this until you get rid of the worms completely.

(Note: Don’t use Apple Vinegar if your skin is sensitive to acidic and causes burning sensation)

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil contains certain fatty acids, like Lauric acid which eradicate fungus being responsible for ringworm. These acids heal the outer membranes of the microbes.

Take 3 tbsp. of coconut oil and apply it gently on your ringworm. Repeat the process for 3-4 times a day until the patches go disappeared.

Garlic:

Garlic is an effective home remedy for ringworms because of its anti-fungal agents. That’s why it is one of the recommended remedies for several types of skin conditions including ring worms.

Just take 1-2 peeled garlic cloves and chop them finely. Keep these slices on the ringworms and secure them with a piece of bandage. Leave it overnight. You can also make thick paste of 1-2 garlic cloves and 3 tbsp. of honey. Apply this paste on affected parts and leave for nearly 1 hour. Wash it off with warm water. Repeat the process 3 times in a day till a patch completely gone.

Aloe Vera:

Apart from beauty uses, Aloe Vera is beneficial in treating several skin infections. Thanks to its gel like substance which is rich are anti-fungal and antibacterial properties killing ringworm infection. All you need to obtain the gel from aloe vera and apply it directly on the skin before going to the bed. Leave it for overnight and rinse it off next morning.

Besides using these ringworm home remedies, make sure you keep a personal hygiene. Keep your skin dry and clean as well. Don’t share your belongings and cloth with others. Wear sandals or shoes while at gym or pool and avoid making contact with pets with your bald patches. If you don’t see any improvement, you must rush to the physician immediately.
