In simple words, inflammation is the process in which immune system protects body from foreign invaders like viruses and bacteria. It is a sign of your healing. However, it occurs with redness, feeling heat, swelling, immobility and pain. Besides, it causes including acne (Link Post 4), asthma, hay fever, bowel diseases and even cancer.

Therefore, it is essential to keep your body’s inflammation level in control with healthy diet and lifestyle. Here we have come up with some efficient foods that will ease the signs of inflammation.

Green Leafy Vegetables:

Fruits and veggies are packed with antioxidants that retrieve cellular health and reinforce anti-inflammatory flavonoids. If consuming added portions of green leafy veggies is difficult for you, take them in a juice form.


Many pharmacological studies have proved that celery has specific antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties useful in blood pressure, cholesterol level and heart disease. Celery seeds are also efficient in bringing down inflammation and bacterial infections.


Ginger is an effective home remedy to fight inflammation. It contains gingerol that contains powerful anti-inflammatory properties. You can use ginger for both chronic inflammatory and acute diseases, thanks to its efficiency to thwart inflammation process at cellular level. Ginger also minimizes the pain occurring in osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. Plus, ginger is also useful to bring down the post workout inflammation.  

It is very simple to use. Either chew it or add it to your tea. You can also use ginger oil to massage the affected body parts. Besides, ginger is also available in capsule form (consult your physician before taking ginger capsule.

You can add turmeric powder to your dishes like soups, curries and salad to prevent inflammation in the body.

Add 1 tbsp. of turmeric to hot glass of milk; take it twice times a day. Alternatively, you can prepare a paste by mixing turmeric powder with sesame oil. Apply this paste on your affected parts of the body.


It has been proved that salmon fish is efficient to bring down the body inflammation. Salmon, a cold water fish, contains omega 3 fatty acids like EPA and DHA which reduces inflammation. According to some studies, EPA and DHA prevent inflammation producing compounds cytokines. Although you can enjoy salmon with various cooking methods, make sure to avoid overcooking as it can kill the healthy fats. You can take salmon 2-3 times a week.   • Minimize caffeine, nicotine and marijuana
