1.Take a cold shower or bath

Take a shower or bath with extreme cold water. Cold water is very effective for itchy skin as it can be useful to wash up and give a relief to the bothersome area. If you prefer bathing, soak yourself for at least 15-20 minutes in water. Add a few drops of essential oils- like coconut oil, Lavender oil, Calendula oil- that can ease the skin and stop skin irritation.

2.Make a cold compress

Wet a towel or cotton cloth in cool water and place it over the bothersome area of the skin till your skin feels relieved. You can even apply ice packs or frozen bags of  of peas or beans on the itchy area, in spite of the fact that these should be wrapped in a towel before being applied on the skin. Do it for at least 10-20 minutes, but no more than that.

3.Take an oatmeal bath

Oats include compounds that act as an antioxidants, which help to calm the skin and stop the skin bothering. You can use your food processor or coffee grinder to crush the oats. Create a paste by adding essential oil in it, apply it on the itchy area. Once the paste is dry, you are ready to take a bath. Also, add 2 cups of unprocessed and uncooked oatmeal to your bathing water. It should be extremely hot, and then cool it to lukewarm water. Soak yourself for one hour in the water, and repeat it regularly for a week.
