1. Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne pepper is used to alleviate pain associated with scabies. The active component in cayenne is capsaicin, which is known to reduce pain as soon as applied to the skin. It can even relieve itching as it helps in desensitizing neurons in the skin. However, it may cause a little burning sensation on application, but it would surely be worth the discomfort.

Some people claim that applying cayenne pepper on the skin has helped them in killing scabies mites. But there are no studies to back these claims, nonetheless, people swear by cayenne’s ability to kill parasites including scabies mites. You can use cayenne by adding its one cup to hot bathwater and sit in the bath until the water gets cold. After that rinse the body, but make sure that it doesn’t get into your eyes.

2. Anise Seed Oil

According to a scientific review published in “Herbal Medicine: Biomolecular and Clinical Aspects. 2nd Edition,” this oil has insecticidal properties. Therefore, it can be used topically to get rid of scabies. However, it is not recommended for pregnant women.

3. Neem Oil

Neem oil has anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, as well as, anti-bacterial properties. Therefore, it can be used to kill scabies mites. It can even prevent their ability to grow and breed. Moreover, neem is able to numb the pain and relieve itching. So, it is one effective product that you must look out for. 

4. Clove Oil

Clove oil has anti-microbial, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory properties. This oil is used to dry off scabies rashes and blisters.  can be used to dry up scabies blisters and rashes. A major component of clove oil is called eugenol that kills mites in the same manner as benzyl benzoate. You need to mix 10 drops of clove oil with one teaspoon of honey and one teaspoon of coconut oil. Apply this mixture to the skin twice daily.

5.Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is another effective product that is known for fighting scabies mites and parasites. It has antimicrobial property and can even reduce inflammation caused by itch mites. It contains oxygenated terpenoids, which are essential for the treatment of scabies. It needs to be applied to the skin overnight and wash off the very next morning. You need to apply this oil on your skin until you feel you’ve completely got rid of the scabies mites.

6. Rosemary Oil

Rosemary oil also possesses antimicrobial property, hence can be used to fight the infestation of scabies. It also helps in decreasing pain and prevents the development of secondary infections that may be caused by scabies.

7.Aloe vera

It is known for its soothing effect and can be used to treat scabies - as it’s as effective as benzyl benzoate. For this remedy, you need to mix two tablespoons of aloe vera gel, a bunch of calendula petals, and 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder. Now, crush calendula petals, add aloe vera gel and turmeric powder to it and mix well. Apply this mixture with a cotton pad twice a day for one to two weeks.
