Scabies infestation is a skin ailment that occurs due to the presence of small mites living on the human body. These mites tend to burrow into the layers of your skin causing intense itching and rashes. You need proper treatment to get rid of scabies, otherwise, the condition will only become worse.

2. Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is another good home remedy to treat scabies as well as other skin ailments. It is popular for its soothing effect on different skin conditions like sunburn, inflammation, etc.

3. Neem

Neem oil is a good antibacterial, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory agent. Hence, it is found in many creams and lotions. It is even very effective in treating scabies because it can kill the mites by interfering with their normal growth cycle.

4. Cayenne pepper

Cayenne pepper contains the main component capsaicin, which is known to alleviate itching and pain associated with scabies. This component is able to desensitize your skin when on the direct application, hence you’re not likely to feel any pain, itching, or other annoying symptoms related to scabies. It is easily available online for purchase, but do consult your doctor before using this product.

5. Turmeric

Although there very little evidence supporting that turmeric is effective in treating scabies, some people strongly back this product as they have seen its result in treating scabies. But if you don’t see any signs of improvement, you can surely go with any other treatment method to get a quick result.

6. Wash clothes in hot water

Apart from applying medicament all over the body to eradicate scabies mites, you also need to thoroughly wash off your clothing, bed sheets, pillows and other fabrics that may have come in contact with the affected individual. All the clothing items need to be washed in hot water (50 degree Celsius) for completely killing them and preventing them from spreading.

7. Borax

Borax or sodium borate is usually used in cleaning household products, including laundry. But some people claim it to be effective against scabies infestation. However, it must not be applied directly on your skin when you’re trying to eliminate itchy scabies mites.

8. Bleach

Bleach can also help you with alleviating scabies mites. Basically, it is a cleaning product and has a harsh chemical that needs to be diluted first before applying on your skin. It even has a damaging effect on the skin, eyes, and lungs. So, you need to be careful while applying this or consult your doctor before applying any such treatment.

9. Vacuuming

Vacuuming will not directly help you in curing the infestation but it will surely help in eradicating the mites that are present around your house, car, or workspace. Proper vacuum cleaning is required to prevent further spreading of scabies mites.

10. Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is another good home remedy that’s good for your skin. Moreover, it is known to effective against scabies. But you need to dilute it with water before applying on your skin.
