Product Description

The hallmark of scabies is intense itching especially at night, regardless of age. The intensity of itch causes an infested person to scratch the skin vigorously. Scabies is highly contagious and may affect the entire household in a short period of time.

DANGERS OF SCRATCHING: Scratching can lead to inoculation of the skin with bacteria (particularly Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes), leading to the development of Impetigo (skin sores), especially in the tropics. Impetigo can, in turn, be complicated by deeper skin infection such as abscesses, as well as serious invasive disease and sepsis in infants. In tropical settings, scabies-associated skin infection is a common risk factor for immune-mediated complications such as acute post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis (kidney disease) and possibly rheumatic heart disease. Evidence of renal damage can be found in up to 10% of children with infected scabies in resource-poor settings and, in many, this persists for years following infection contributing to permanent kidney damage. Recurrent infestations are common (Source: World Health Organization). Aside from these complications and physical disfiguration caused by having scabies infestation, anxiety and sleeplessness are also brought about by excessive itching and scratching.

A proactive and immediate solution for itching without the dangerous adverse effects of using steroids and hydrocortisone is through the use of a topical anesthetic cream. Dr. Scabies® highly recommends Dr. Numb®  Topical Anesthetic Cream with 5% lidocaine as FAST-ACTING ITCH RELIEF in combination with various Treatment Kits for Scabies. It is not homeopathically prepared but it is the safest and most effective analgesic and antipruritic solution that can be used by adults and children.

DR. NUMB® is an over-the-counter topical anesthetic cream approved by Health Canada. It is applied to skin to relieve pain and/or itching by depressing cutaneous sensory receptors.

I have not found anything better to relieve the itch
This stuff works like nothing I've seen. After moving to Chicago, I had my first encounter with scabies. This takes away the itch at once. You have to repeat the application after while, but it works! If you have scabies, you'll know what a miracle that is.

I was losing sleep and was completely miserable because it was very uncomfortable to walk for extended periods of time. This has helped me on a number of times when I feel the itchiness acting up. So far, on rare occasions that anybody in the family would have itchiness caused by insect bites or other causes indicated in the bottle, this really helps a lot.

  7. This stuff helps

This stuff is amazing. I brought it with me when I traveled to Spain, just in case something happens. It worked for me whenever I start to itch. My friend had hives and an allergic reaction to something, so I ended up applying it regularly to his hand. Immediately, he would stop complaining about the itching. I ended up giving it to him because it was the only cream that really helped him. I will definitely repurchase soon!
