Folliculitis is a skin condition caused by damaged or infected hair follicle. It is characterized with redness, pimples with hair in center, rashes and blisters. And all symptoms are coupled with intense itching. Don’t worry! Here are some home remedies you can try to treat your mild folliculitis.

Coconut oil:

Coconut oil is useful for folliculitis as it is packed with several skin healing compounds. The oil contains fatty capric acid and lauric acid which turn to be in monocaprin and monolaurin to protect the skin. Just apply organic coconut oil to the affected parts and scalp three times a day. The use of coconut oil not only stops itching and burning, but also makes your skin look beautiful.


Neem oil is efficient for various contagious skin conditions due to its antiseptic and antifungal properties. You can apply neem oil to the affected parts of the skin. Or you can make the paste by boiling the leaves. Apply the paste on your affected parts. Repeat the process 2-3 times a day to see improvement.

Aloe vera

Vinegar is rich in antibacterial, antiseptic and antiviral properties which are very beneficial in treating folliculitis. You can use apple cider or white vinegar. Mix one part of vinegar with two parts of water. Use a cotton ball to apply the solution on your irritated skin for 5 to 10 minutes. Afterwards, wash it off with lukewarm water.
