Do I Need To Treat My Vehicle For Scabies?

From the time that Scabies is detected, it is important for the infected person to stay calm and in control. The thought of an insect gnawing at your insides is terrifying, but it is definitely not a hopeless situation.

Even after the treatment is complete, it is important to get rid of the mites from your vehicle (seats and other fabrics) and home (bed sheets, mattresses, pillows, curtains etc.).

Here’s what you need to do:

Be Clean and Stay Clean

The important thing to remember is to keep your house and yourself clean (actually super clean.) Once the infection is detected, remember that it has taken four to six weeks to just appear. So it’s been there for a long time. You need to consider cleaning everything fluffy in your home.

Treating Car Seats

Car seats can be treated the same way as furniture at home. There is every possibility that they may not have any mites on them but to be on a safer side, it’s better to be sure than to be caught by a re-infestation later.

Invest in a good spray and treat the interiors and the upholstery. After spraying, the liquid should be allowed to dry out completely. It normally does not stain or cause any kind of discoloration. But we suggest that a test patch should be done before actually spraying all of the insides.

Lastly, continue the treatment for few days even if you think scabies is gone.
