Here are the ways to lighten or remove eczema scars.

Eczema is a tormenting skin condition causing a lot of rashes and intense itching. And it can be even frustrating when it leaves the skin with ugly patches known as scars. Scars are more common in chronic eczema. The scars appear differently depending on the skin tone. For example, they appear pink or red on white skin and look darker than the surrounding areas on the dark skin.

Eczema scars may fade over a time. However, they can be permanent. Their stay on the skin is determined by their severity. Sometimes, aggressive scratching may lead to skin damage that may turn into a scar.

The eczema scar treatment aims to stop itching, dryness and cracking on the affected areas to make them fade as soon as possible.

While medications can help reduce scars, there are many home remedies you can try to see the results.

Onion Extracts:

One study has found that onions can minimize eczema scars. According to another study, onion extract can improve and soften scars after 4 weeks. It has also been found that onion extract gel can improve scar texture, redness and overall appearance after several weeks of use.

And it is very simple to use onion for scars. Just chop two large onions in 4 pieces each. Grind the chopped pieces. Extract the juice by squeeze them hard. Get the juice in a cup and mix 200 gm. of aloe vera gel.

Use a tight jar to store this mixture. Apply this mixture on the affected area twice a day.

Aloe Vera Extract:

This succulent plant has been used for years to cure various skin ailments. Thanks to its more than 200 active beneficial components. Aloe gel is filled with enzymes, amino acids, fatty acids, polysaccharide and vitamins. It’s soothing and moisturizing effect eases the skin inflammation as well as heal the wounds. Aloe gel should be applied to the skin when you skin heals. The gel aids skin healing and repairing as well with its polysaccharides, gibberellins and glycoproteins.

Take a fresh aloe leaf and peel off the extract to get the gel like substance. Wash your skin and dry it. Apply aloe gel liberally to the area to coat it in a thin layer of gel. Do it 2-3 times a day.

Shea Butter:

Shea butter is an effective remedy for eczema scars. It contains antioxidants like vitamin E, fatty acids like cinnamic acid, and anti-inflammatory agents like vitamin A. This way, it moisturizes the skin; minimizes flaking and dryness to retrieve smoothness.

Let’s see how you can use Shea butter for eczema scars.

First of all, mix two parts of Shea butter with a part of lemon juice. Apply the past to your scars before going to the bed. Keep it on your skin overnight and remove it the following day.

Orange Peel:

Orange peels are a great source of vitamin C that can lighten the scars and skin blemishes.Plus, it includes retinol which supports the fading dead skin cells.

To make this remedy, dry the orange peels in the sun. Once they are dried and crisp, put them in a blender with some amount of water, 3 tbsp. of honey and 1 tbsp. of ground cinnamon. Blend it well to create paste.

Apply this paste to your affected eczema spots. Wait till it gets dried. Wash it off using warm water.

So these are the remedies to lighten up or remove your eczema scars. However, see your physician if there is no improvement or the scars just get aggravated.
