How to Treat Your Toenail Fungus at Home?

Apple Cider Vinegar:

Apple cider vinegar is an amazing home remedy for all contagious diseases including toenail fungus. Thanks to its antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. It helps inhibits the spreading of toenail fungus and eliminates the bacteria and fungi. It is easy to use apple cider vinegar for toenail fungus.

  • Take ACV and water in equal amount and mix together in a large bowl. Put your toenail in this solution for nearly half an hour. After that, take out your toenail and let it dry naturally. You can see improvement in your toenail conditions with a regular use of this remedy.
  • You can also make a scrub by adding few tbsp. of ACV to the grounded (coarsely) rice flour. Apply this paste on your toenail and gently scrub the area. Repeat it for a few days. It will remove the dead skin cells and is useful for keeping skin soft.

Lavender Oil

Lavender oil is another effective remedy for toenail fungus. It is packed with antifungal properties, making it a healing remedy. All you need to apply a few drops of lavender oil to your nails every night to see results. Make sure to wear wool socks to prevent your bedding catch oil stains.


Garlic has been used for ages to treat infections and common skin issues. It contains powerful antifungal compounds like ajoene and allicin.

Here is how to use it.

Mix garlic oil to equal amount of white vinegar. Apply this mixture to the affected part of the nail and cover it with a bandage. Leave it for a while and remove the bandage. Repeat the process daily to see improvement.

Tea Tree Oil:

Being rich in antibacterial properties, tea tree oil is effective on the toenail fungus, ringworm and the athlete’s food. In fact, its antiseptic action is believed to be 100 times powerful than carbolic acid. However, it is safer than carbolic acid for human beings.Earlier research studies found that tea tree oil is an effective treatment to prevent human and animal infestations.

Apply tea tree oil directly to affected area using a cotton swab. Do it twice a day to see improvement.

Baking Soda:

Baking soda can dry up the excess moisture on the toes, and it will remove foot odor. This way, it is an effective toenail fungus treatment. Make a paste using baking soda and water and apply it to the toenail. Soak it for 10 minutes and then wash it off. Or you can mix baking soda in a bucket of water for an entire foot soak.
