According to a study published in the British Medical Journal consuming chocolate can increase your age almost by a year. It was also found that people who consume candy one or three times during a month have lower mortality rates which are due to presence of antioxidants in chocolate.

According to a 2009 study, heart attack survivors who ate chocolate were less likely to die as compared to those who didn’t eat any of it.

A research was done by Danish researchers in which 16 participants were given 100 g of either dark or milk chocolate and then after 2 hours they were offered a pizza. It was found that participants who ate dark chocolate consumed 15% fewer calories compared to the ones who ate milk chocolate and had reduces cravings for sugary or salty foods.

Chocolate is more effective than sunscreen

According to a research in London, eating high-flavonol chocolate (dark chocolate with a high amount of cacao) can increase your ability to spend more time in the sun without your skin turning reddish. Thus, chocolate is like a sunscreen mask which you can eat every time you step out in the sun.
